Oti Region: DCE For Krachi Nchumuru Condemns Killings At Borae Ahenfie
The District Chief Executive for Krachi Nchumuru, Kwasi Nkrumah Ogyile has condemned the killing of the chief of Borae Ahenfie and two others yesterday.
Mr Kwasi Nkrumah Ogyile made the statement when he visited Borae Ahenfie where the Chief of the community Nana Meebo and two others were gruesomely murdered on Saturday.
He assured the residents that the people behind the killings will be brought to book.
The DCE also noted that there will be a District Security Council (DISEC) meeting on the incident . He urged the residents to provide the security with any credible information they have to help in the investigation.
Speaking to the media, the son of the late Nana Meebo Kenneth Kwame Agya said they were on the farm working when they heard gunshots which hit the leg of his uncle who is among the dead.
“When we heard the gunshot, we all ran for cover, my uncle was hit on the leg, the assailants pounced on him and killed. They chased one of my family members and also killed him and also shot my dad.”
He disclosed that after the attack on the farm the assailants dashed to their house and destroyed many properties there.
“They destroyed our fridge, burnt two motorbikes, smashed a TV and burnt 16 huts.”
Fourteen persons are currently in the grips of the police following the incident.
The bodies of the late Nana Meebo and the two others have been deposited at the Krachi Government Hospital Morgue.
The police are yet to come out with a statement on the incident.
