Prison Officers Unhappy With GH₵30 Cedis Contribution For Retiring Directors

Information available to First News is that some Prison Officers across the country are unhappy they are being asked to pay GH₵ 30 each to be given to two of their directors who are retiring.

The two retiring officers the prison officers are contributing for include; DOP Samuel Arthur, Director of Finance and DOP Samuel Kwame Owusu Amponsah, Director of Operations.

The Prison Officers who spoke to First News on condition of anonymity said they are not happy with the directive to pay GH₵30 cedis to be given to the two retiring officers.

According to the prison officers, their landlord and ladies are on their neck because the government has not paid for their last quarter for 2022.

“Our landlords and ladies are putting pressure on us demanding their rent. It is becoming embarrassing; the government should do something about it urgently.”
