Fifteen-year-old Owura Kwaku Gyampo Anim, a talented right full-back currently playing for the Kings International Soccer Academy in Lashibi, Community 16, Accra, aspires to excel in his position in the future.
In an interview with First News, Owura expressed his ambition to pursue a career as a professional footballer.
Owura’s passion for football ignited at a young age, and he found inspiration in the likes of Kyle Walker from Manchester City, whom he regards as his role model.
He explained, “I have been a football enthusiast since childhood, and my support for Manchester City began when I first started watching football. During one of their matches, I was captivated by a player named Kyle Walker, who has since become my mentor. His speed, physique, and exceptional technique in the game impressed me.”
Choosing to specialize as a right full-back, Owura attributed his decision to the influence of his role model, Kyle Walker, and his growing love for the position.
He also shared his career aspirations, stating, “I aspire to kickstart my professional football journey with Brighton and Hove Albion F.C. As I progress in my career, I aim to make a transition to Arsenal. After at least three years at Arsenal, I dream of playing for my beloved club, Manchester City, and eventually concluding my football career, possibly in Italy or Spain. I pray that the Almighty Lord guides me throughout this remarkable journey.”
Owura, who recently completed his Basic Education Certificate Examination and attended the New Dawn Centre at Regimanuel Estate, Nungua Barrier, Accra, has received unwavering support from his father, Mr. Isaac Anim.
In an interview, Mr. Anim expressed his commitment to ensuring his son’s dreams of becoming a professional footballer come true, going to great lengths to facilitate his training and development by driving him to and from practice sessions every weekend.
“As a father, I go and still will go every lengthy to make sure his dreams come to pass. I drive him to and from training every weekend.”
