Roman Fada, known privately as Kwabena Agyeman Appiah Kubi, has confirmed his readiness to step in as the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) flagbearer following the passing of Akua Donkor.
Akua Donkor, the GFP’s flagbearer, passed away on Monday night. Her death occurred at Ridge Hospital in Accra after being transferred from Nsawam Government Hospital.
Confirming Madam Donkor’s passing, Roman Fada disclosed that she fell ill on Saturday, October 26, 2024. She was initially taken to Nsawam Government Hospital, where she was treated and discharged.
In response to the news, Fada told Angel FM that he is prepared to lead the GFP in the upcoming 2024 election, should legal requirements designate him as flagbearer.
“If the law says I should be the flagbearer, why not? I am ready to take up the mantle,” he said. “Being from the entertainment industry, I hope to receive support from my colleagues in that field,” Roman Fada was quoted as saying in a Graphic Online report.
A few weeks earlier, Akua Donkor had appointed Roman Fada, a well-known Ghanaian media personality, as her running mate.
