Osebo the Zaraman urges youth to work smarter, not harder

Ghanaian fashion icon and businessman, Richard Brown, popularly known as Osebo the Zaraman, has shared a word of advice with the youth, emphasizing the importance of intelligence and strategic thinking in achieving success.

Speaking at the 40th birthday celebration of businessman Richard Nii-Armah Quaye, Osebo urged young people to work smart rather than rely solely on hard work. He stressed that wealth requires wisdom, questioning whether there is any truly foolish rich person.

“You can’t just be like him,” Osebo said, referring to Quaye. “I’ve listened to one of his interviews—this guy has really suffered. What he went through, most young people today wouldn’t endure. Even if you ask them to, they won’t do it. So, it’s not easy to reach his level.”

He went on to highlight the importance of intelligence in wealth creation.

“Have you ever seen a foolish rich man? You need to have sense before you can make money. If you don’t think smart, wealth won’t come to you,” he told GhanaWeb’s Stella Dziedzorm.

Osebo further advised that while hard work is important, it’s critical to leverage intelligence and strategy for success.

“It’s not about extreme hard work; it’s about using your brain. If you want to be like him [Quaye], trust me, it won’t be easy. But you can even surpass him—if you use your brain the right way,” he concluded.
