I have no regrets choosing career first before motherhood – Nana Ama McBrown

Ghanaian actress and TV personality Nana Ama McBrown has reflected on her journey to motherhood, stating that she has no regrets about prioritizing her career before starting a family.

Speaking on the DivaDocLetsTalk podcast, McBrown shared the emotional toll of struggling to conceive. She admitted that watching her colleagues embrace motherhood while she remained childless was heartbreaking.

“As I built my career, I often cried because I hadn’t given birth yet. Seeing my peers with their children made me question if I would ever experience motherhood. I kept trying, but it wasn’t happening,” she revealed.

Determined to become a mother, McBrown opted for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) at the age of 41.

“I had the choice between IVF and surrogacy, but I insisted on trying IVF first—even if it took multiple attempts. If it failed, then I would consider surrogacy,” she explained.

Fortunately, her first IVF attempt was successful, and she welcomed her child at 41. Despite the struggles, she stands by her decision to focus on her career before motherhood.

“I have no regrets about pursuing my career first,” Nana Ama McBrown stated.
