Nana Agradaa laughs off GH¢20M lawsuit from Empress Gifty, threatens to counter-sue in dollars
Nana Agradaa has come out swinging following news that gospel artiste Empress Gifty has dragged her to court for defamation. Unfazed by the GH¢20 million lawsuit filed against her, the controversial evangelist brushed off the legal threat with a flurry of verbal attacks and an open dare to escalate the feud.
“Any idiot can go to court. I’ve left the farm, I’m now dealing with classy people, so I don’t have time to come out and make any banter with no one,” Agradaa declared, insisting she’s no longer engaging with Empress Gifty or her associates.
Agradaa, legally known as Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, didn’t stop at downplaying the suit. She turned her fury toward Gifty’s husband, Hopeson Adorye, accusing him of using media platforms to incite violence against her. In an explosive rant, she even issued a threat of physical assault should they ever meet.
“If I catch Hopeson, I will beat him and for you, Gifty, let me tell you, you can go to court 100 times, 200 times, I don’t give a damn,” she fumed.
The tirade escalated further as Agradaa accused Adorye of bypassing his wife to publicly humiliate her, claiming his radio appearances were filled with defamatory remarks.
“For you, stupid Hopeson Adorye, you go and sit on the radio to claim I am evil and inciting people to beat me to death. You have bypassed your wife to scold and humiliate me,” she said.
Calling the lawsuit an intimidation ploy, Agradaa made it clear she is not one to be rattled by court cases.
“I am not part of those people you can scare with legal actions or the court,” she asserted defiantly.
She capped her response with a vow to counter-sue Adorye—not in Ghana, but on an international legal stage, promising her claim would be in U.S. dollars and exceed Empress Gifty’s demand.
“If you sue me for 2 billion, I will also sue your husband for triple or more of that. I’m going to sue your husband in dollars, I will sue him in an international court and take dollars,” she warned.
The firestorm stems from a defamation case filed by Empress Gifty at the Tema High Court on May 20, 2025, which became public early the next day. The suit accuses Agradaa of repeatedly using defamatory language and insults aimed at damaging Gifty’s reputation.
With legal documents now in play and verbal barbs flying, the public feud between the gospel singer and the self-styled evangelist is showing no signs of cooling down—and could soon leap from the local courts to an international legal battle.
