Agya Koo appeals to Mahama to ensure Akufo-Addo’s creative arts projects are not wasted
Veteran Ghanaian entertainer, Alex Kofi Adu, well-known as Agya Koo, is calling on President John Dramani Mahama to revive and complete creative arts infrastructure projects that were started under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
Taking to his official X account, the actor and musician commended Mahama for placing renewed attention on Ghana’s cultural development. He used the moment to advocate for continuity, urging the President not to abandon the groundwork laid by his predecessor, Nana Akufo-Addo.
“Hello Mr. President John Mahama, I am writing to express my appreciation for the importance of arts and culture in Ghana’s development. As an Actor and musician, I humbly request that you consider continuing the creative art buildings initiated by the previous administration led by @NAkufoAddo. These projects have the potential to promote Ghana’s cultural heritage, support local artists. let’s help keep Ghana’s creative spirit alive. Thank you,” he wrote.
Agya Koo emphasized that such facilities are not mere structures, but vital platforms that can empower local creatives and preserve the nation’s artistic legacy.
According to him, finishing these projects would not only uplift the lives of artists but also cement Ghana’s commitment to cultural growth and identity. With functional infrastructure, he believes the sector can evolve into a sustainable space that nurtures talent and fuels national progress.
