Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay has paid glowing tribute to Shatta Wale, acknowledging him as the only person who believed in her dream when almost everyone else in the music industry doubted her.
Taking the stage at Shatta Fest 2025 on October 18, the “Survivor” hitmaker opened up about her early career struggles, recounting how many industry insiders dismissed her talent and questioned her ability to succeed.
According to Wendy, while others mocked her ambitions, Shatta Wale stood out as her biggest supporter, offering encouragement and speaking positively into her future.
“Many people doubted I would succeed in the music industry, including radio presenters, pundits, and Twitter boys who said Wendy Shay won’t make it. But then, I met one man, a prophet.
“His name is Prophet Shatta Wale, and he prophesied over my life. And now I am the boss,” she said to roaring applause.
Her heartfelt words came during Shatta Wale’s 41st birthday concert at Independence Square, where thousands of fans turned out to celebrate the dancehall star.
The star-studded event also featured performances from Sarkodie, Samini, Tinny, Kelvynboy, Jupita, and several others, who filled the night with energy, music, and cheers in honour of Shatta Wale’s milestone celebration.
