Daddy Lumba’s Sister Applauds Court Decision That Paused His Funeral Plans

Ernestina Fosuh says the High Court’s decision to pause the planned funeral of her brother, Highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy Lumba), has brought her relief and renewed confidence that the family can finally give him the farewell he deserves.

Speaking in a video posted by Adom TV on Instagram, she praised the judge’s approach to the case, noting that the ruling creates room for the family to organise a more dignified funeral. Ernestina stressed that Lumba lived with honour and should not be sent off hurriedly.

“I thank everyone for their prayers. When the time is due, we will give him a befitting burial. He has suffered, so we don’t have to rush to bury him like a fowl. I am pleased with the ruling,” Ernestina said.

She also disclosed that the court’s intervention means she can finally see her brother’s remains, something she has not been allowed to do since his death.

“I am very happy because I can now see his body. Ever since he died, I have not had the chance to see him,” she added.

Ernestina Fosuh reaffirmed her commitment to safeguarding his memory beyond the funeral and ensuring that his legacy continues to be honoured.

“I will make sure I do my best to give him a sound burial and even help him after the burial. I thank God for giving me the strength, and I am grateful to everyone who supported me,” she stated.
