Stonebwoy Claims His Song ‘Jejereje’ Played Key Role in NDC’s 2024 Win

Famous Ghanaian artiste Stonebwoy is drawing a direct line between his music and politics, claiming his 2024 single Jejereje played a role in the National Democratic Congress returning to power in the December elections.

He made the remarks during the launch of Ghana’s fundraising drive ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he spoke about the various ways individuals contributed during the election period. For him, that contribution came through music.

“When we talk about contributions, I believe that my contribution has been very significant in winning power for the NDC; I so say because everybody has heard. (Naano ɛɛ, na ɔkɔfa bae ɔɔ
Onua ne Jejereje
Naano ɛɛ, na ɔkɔfa bae ɔɔ

Naano ɛɛ ɛ ɛ, na ɔkɔfa bae ɔɔ

Naano ɛɛ ɛ ɛ, na ɔkɔfa bae ɔɔ
Onua ne Jejereje…)”

The artiste framed the release of Jejereje as a calculated move during a politically charged moment. According to him, the track was timed to coincide with heightened tensions across the country, offering what he described as a form of relief while aligning with the party’s central message.

“I did it mainly because I am somebody who really believes in reset. So, in my own judgment, I made sure that that music was dropped within a moment where there was some ease in the system because it was so tense, and I dropped it in terms of contributions,” he said.

He also highlighted the speed and scale of the production, linking it to another key theme often associated with the NDC’s messaging.

“The song in the background was well put together in under 24 hours by me and an able team of producers and cost the tune of at least $20,000,” Stonebwoy further stated.
