All Eyes on Akosua Serwaa as She Arrives in Ghana for Daddy Lumba’s Celebration of Life

Massive crowd welcomes Akosua Serwaa to Ghana.

Akosua Serwaa is back in Ghana, arriving just days before activities begin to honour the life of highlife musician Daddy Lumba.

A video shared online on March 24, 2026, captures the moment she stepped out at the Accra International Airport, where a waiting group received her with enthusiasm. Among those present were Papa Shee, Mama China, Ernestina Fosu, and a circle of supporters identifying themselves as Team Legal Wives, all gathered as preparations for the memorial continue to build.

The two-day remembrance is set for March 28 and 29, dates earlier put forward by Akosua Serwaa together with Ernestina Fosu, the late singer’s elder sister, as part of plans to celebrate his legacy.

Her return unfolds against the backdrop of unresolved family disagreements over the idea of holding a second funeral. The tension traces back to the events leading up to Daddy Lumba’s burial on December 13, 2025, at the Baba Yara Stadium, following a prolonged standoff involving Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu and Ernestina Fosu.

Those lingering disputes have continued to shape conversations around the March programme, even as organisers press ahead with arrangements to commemorate the musician’s life.
