A 49-year-old businessman based at Yeji in the Bono East Region, Bashiru Abdulai has been killed by armed robbers.
Bashiru Abdulai died instantly when the vehicle they were travelling on from Kumasi to Yeji was shot into by armed robbers at Kobere few kilometres from Yeji in the Pru East District.
Driver of the SsangYong vehicle with registration number AW 3077-13, Clinton Kojo Ofori in an interview with First News, said they came face-to-face with the armed robbers at Kobere where he tried to hit them with the vehicle.
“They shot into the vehicle when they tried to stop us, in the process they shot into the car, I was able to save myself but the one passenger at the front with me was hit on the forehead and he died.”
The body has been deposited at the St Mathias Catholic Hospital Morgue at Yeji waiting autopsy.
