Wenchi MP Supports Muslims During Ramadan

The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency, Alhaji Seidu Haruna has donated assorted food items worth thousands of cedis, to Muslims within the constituency to support them in the month-long period of fasting.

The items included,20 bags of rice,15 bags of sugar, cartons of milo, cartons of milk and 2 boxes of lipton.

Alhaji Seidu Haruna said, “During Ramadan we need to do a lot of goodness, particularly, to the less privileged in the society the Wenchi Legislature said.”

He encouraged Muslims to do lots of goodness, particularly the less privileged in the society.

He used the opportunity to thank them for their support and prayers during the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Alhaji Seidu Haruna, appealed to them to continue to pray for him for Allah to grant him the requisite wisdom to lead the constituents.

Alhaji Baba Salia Suwari, the Chairman of Imams Council in Wenchi received the items on behalf of the Wenchi Municipal Chief Imam, Sheikh Alhaji Issah Ibrahim and the Imams Council.

He thanked the MP for the gesture and was hopeful that the items would go a long way to help the Muslims in the fasting.

They used the opportunity to pray for the country and also sought divine intervention to heal Ghana from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Fasting during Ramadan is one of the fundamentals of being a true Muslim and is a time for intense prayer and religious devotion, with Muslims encouraged to observe five daily prayers throughout the day other than reciting Quran.

It is also believed that on the 27th day of Ramadan, God revealed the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad more than 1,400 years ago.
