President Akufo-Addo has appointed National Organizer of the NPP, Samuel Kwabena Awuku as the new Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
Sammi Awuku as he is popularly called will take over from Kofi Osei Ameyaw whose contract was not renewed this year.
Sammi Awuku a former National Youth Organizer is expected to resign his current position as National Organizer of the NPP to take over his new role.
He served as Board Chairman of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and was twice elected Vice Chair of theYoung Democrats Union (IYDU), an international association of the youth wings of conservative parties across the world.
Career
Sammy Awuku started his politics when he was at the University of Ghana. He even contested for the presidency of the student representative council (SRC). He happens to play a vital role in the New Patriotic Party as the National Youth Organiser. He did his possible best to mobilize the youth to the party which brought the victory of the NPP in 2016.
He served as the Deputy Communication’s Director before becoming the National Youth Organizer.
In 2012, Sammy Awuku was dragged with contempt at the Supreme court of Ghana and he pleaded guilty of which the court had to pardon him.
