Some Residents Of Sunyani Demonstrate Over What They Call Under Development

Some residents of the Sunyani Municipality in the Bono Region have demonstrated over what they call neglect of the Municipality by successive governments and the abandoning of some developmental projects.

The demonstration was organized by Sunyani Youth Development Association to press for the completion of abandoned projects.

Hundreds of residents in the Sunyani Municipality including the young and the old joined the demonstration to demand for development.

They are calling on the Government to complete all abandoned projects in Sunyani.

The Convener of the demonstration, Mr Ransford Antwi has been speaking to First News said , “ We have been quiet for long but we are awake, Sunyani has been denied its fair share of development, our roads our libraries among others. The regional library was started by President Kuffour 19 years ago but it has been abandoned.”

Nana Akua Pomaa, Kronti Akwamuhemaa who took part in the demonstration called on the government to give Sunyani its fair share of the national cake.

A petition was presented to the Bono Regional House of Chiefs and was received by its Vice President Okokyeredom Sakyi Akor II.
