NPP Supporters In Sunyani East Chase Executives For Nominations Forms
Some supporters of the NPP in the Sunyani East Constituency in the Bono Region have ransacked the party’s office following their inability to access nomination forms to enable them participate in the coming polling station elections.
They are accusing the leadership of the party in the Constituency of giving the forms to only their favourites. As of midday on Saturday, the party office was still not opened.
Some supporters of the ruling New Patriotic Party in the Sunyani East Constituency in the Bono Region are accusing the party leadership in the Constituency of hiding nomination forms and giving same to only their favourites.
Party loyalists who gathered as early as 5am at the party office were disappointed because they could not get access to the forms to buy. As of midday on Saturday, the party office was still locked.
Some unidentified supporters of the party forced open the office, they ransacked the place. The front glass door leading to the office was also smashed. Some of the aggrieved supporters spoke to First News.
Prince Ohene Yeboah said, “I came here at 2a.m., I am the former Abosuom Organizer, I am here to buy forms because today is 19th February. We have been here for some time and we do not know where the forms are. A delegation was sent to the regional office but we did not get any good feedback. We want them to bring the forms so that we can vote. We do not want one to appoint our leaders, we want to vote to elect them. We will support anyone who wins.”
Ajara Musah also disclosed that, “I am the former Deputy Women Organizer in the then Brong Ahafo Region. We are also NPP members so we have come to buy some of the forms. We have been here since 5a.m. but since we came one Executive has come to brief us on what is happening on whether our forms are in or not. We do not want what happened to us when we lost many parliamentary seats to happen to us again in 2024.”
