Police Officer Found Dead In Residence At Koforidua

The Eastern Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the death of a 44-year-old Police officer, Sergeant Emmanuel Asiedu.

The Regional Police Command in a statement said it received information about the death at about 10:30 pm on March 31, 2022.

“We quickly rushed to the scene. The Police Officer was found dead at his residence at Adjeiwa Lodge. Police proceeded to the said house and upon enquiries entered the room of the 44-year-old old deceased officer. He was found lying on his bed, unresponsive, in a supine position. He wore a blue-black vertically striped jeans shorts, with dried foam on his mouth and some blackish-red substance smeared all over his face.”

According to police, the deceased officer had no marks on his body, indicating any form of violence, when they arrived at the scene.

The photographed body was thereafter conveyed to the Eastern Regional Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

Police also noted that the doctor revealed that the deceased had been dead six hours before he was taken to the hospital.”

The body has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
