Charles Bissue Was Thrown Under The Bus To Conceal NPP Bigwigs Involved In Illegal Mining

Former Presenter at Net2 TV, Kwaku Annan has  disclosed that it disheartening how the former Secretary to the IMCIM, Charles Bissue was axed from his job through a sponsored and dubious corruption allegation against him.

In 2019-2020, there were serious allegations that were leveled against the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM) Prof. Frimpong-Boateng over his involvement in illegal mining.

It is strange how the government of Akufo Addo had remained tight-lip over allegations of the involvement of some officials in galamsey.

Despite the calls for a thorough investigation on the back of these allegations, nothing seems to bother the government.

Yet, no single attempt was made to investigate these claims.

Today, a former presenter of NET2 television, Kwaku Annan is spilling the beans over how his former boss, Ken Agyapong in 2020, blocked the airing of an investigative piece he had undertaken about these allegations.

In his account, there were loads of evidence that incriminated Prof Frimpong-Boateng and some other party in this illegal mining scandal.

This was just months after Secretary to the IMCIM, Charles Bissue was hit with corruption allegations by Tiger Eye P.I’s Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

According to him, the evidence was so damning that the National Security Minister, Kan Dapaah waded into the matter. As usual, the pretentious attitude of causing an investigation and sanctioning any culpable person became the promise of the day.

He remarked that Charles Bissue was taken down for having uncovered and frustrating the operations of these party bigwigs who were into illegal mining.

He laments the silence of Mr Bissue over these matters is rather unfortunate adding that, there will be a tsunami in the NPP should he ever open up on this. These and other intelligence, according to Kwaku Annan were upon the request of Hon. Kan Dapaaah and Kennedy Agyapong, concealed from the state.

It would be recalled that Mr Bissue in a media interview mentioned of an assassination attempt that was made on his life. Though he did not mention the name(s) of the persons behind that crime, he hinted they were his own party people.

Again, no single attempt was made by the National Security to bring these perpetuators to book.

Could this be an organized crime at the heart of government?
