Our Music Industry Is Going Down Because Of Zapp Mallet, Appietus – Joseph Matthew

Uk-based Ghanaian Afro-Gospel musician, Joseph Matthew also known as JM has stated that the Ghanaian music industry is going down the drain because of the neglect of legendary sound engineers like Zapp Mallet , Appietus and Fredyma.

For some time now the Nigerian music industry has been praised for bringing the world’s attention to Africa.

While answering a question in an interview via telephone on Hot 93.9FM on why the Nigerian music has overly gone international as compared to Ghana’s, Joseph Matthew stated that the Ghana music industry is going down because of the fast food production of songs

According to the ‘Blessed’ crooner, “now everyone can just get a studio in their small rooms then begin to play any beat then they will produce a song just for tik Tok then it fades…Legendary sound engineers like Zapp Mallet, Fredyma , Appietus who were producing good beats have been neglected and settling on some amateur producers who are rather destroying the music scene”.

Joseph Matthew added that, “Our music is losing its authenticity because we don’t see these engineers like they’re not relevant anymore ..we need to bring them in so they can guide the young ones in order to salvage the industry”
