Chonke- Nchumuru Youth Association Calls For Justice For Murdered Chief and Two Others

The Chonke-Nchumuru Youth Association is calling for justice for the murdered Benkurnhene of Chonke Traditional area, Nana Meebo II and two others at Borae Ahenfie in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region.

Nana Meebo II who is also the chief of Borae Ahenfie and two other persons Sabenya Mensah and Kwadwo Barnabas were killed while working on a farm belonging to the chief.

There have been several calls for justice for the three persons from the United Nchumurumang Association (UNA) and other Nchumurus across the country.

The latest to join this call is the Chonke-Nchumuru Youth Association. In their press release available to First News they stated that, “We request the security agencies to act with expedition to bring the culprit of this barbaric act to face the full rigours of the law. We say this in view of the .past incidences.”

The Association also noted that “ It  is _trite knowledge  that, these  Konkombas  have -repeatedly   boasted  about the ability of their men in authority such as Hon. Solomon  Kuyon  (MP, Krachi Nchumuru), Hon. Joshua Makubu (Oti Regional Minister) and Hon. Dominic Nitiwul (Defense Minister) to get them off the hook whenever they fall foul of the law. No wonder most of their crimes have gone unpunished.  We are however concerned about the deafening silence of the Oti Regional Minister who is a Konkomba and doubt his preparedness and willingness to ensure that justice is served.”

They added that, “The security agencies take steps to prosecute all outstanding issues of Konkomba brutalities without further delay. We call on the security agencies to give true meaning to the various court judgments by enforcing same.”
