GPRTU To Reduce Transportation Fares By 15.3 Percent On Monday

Road Transport Operators have announced 15.3 percent reduction in transport fares.

The reduction according to the group will take effect on Monday December 19, 2022.The decision according to the transport operators follows the reduction in the prices of petroleum products.

This was announced in a press release signed by the General Secretary of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union GPRTU Mr Godfred Abulbire and the General Secretary for Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council GRTCC, Mr Emmanuel Ohene Yeboah.

 

Diesel is likely to be sold at GH¢15 per litre in the next pricing window on Friday, December 16, 2022, while the price of petrol is expected to drop further.

The ministry further said it’s negotiating with transport operators to reduce the fares to a margin that will be favourable to passengers and transport operators.
