Berry Ladies FC Complete Signing Of Jafar Rahama

Berry Ladies FC has signed Jafar Rahama a prolific striker from Northern Ladies FC.

Rahama played 13 times for Northern Ladies FC in the Women’s Premier League, becoming the first player in the competition to score a ‘haul’ few seasons ago.

Jafar Rahama’s performance in the Women’s FA Cup was great scoring nine goals to grab the top goal scorer prize and also named NASCO Player of the Match three times during the 2020/21 league season.

The CEO of Berry Ladies FC, Mrs. Gifty Oware-Mensah said: “We’re absolutely delighted to bring Jafar to Berry Ladies.

“She will add real versatility to the squad as a striker who can also play in any of the three forward positions.

“Technically she’s a very gifted player and her time at Northern Ladies has given her experience of a physical, transitional league as well.”

Rahama has been incredible in her own way and an inspiration to the Northern Ladies side and her addition to Berry Ladies Football Club’s already blazing attacking squad comes in handy for the task ahead.

She said: “It’s a dream come true really. I have been a massive Berry Ladies fan, so just for me it’s amazing to be here and I’m really excited to get started.

“To come back to the southern zone and play in the Ghana Women’s Premier League is always something I’ve wanted to do.

“I really hope for Berry Ladies FC, I can be someone very dependable and reliable, a good striker who will break up play, get involved, be physical and counter quickly, be a bit of a leader in the forward, assist if I can and score.

“I always imagined coming back to the WPL, that was always my dream, to play football in Greater Accra Region at the highest level I can.

“I’m just really excited to have had interest from Berry Ladies FC in the first place and when it was Berries it was just tunnel vision.”

Jafar Rahama’s jersey number for Berries will be announced soon and she is not the only signing of the January window for Berry Ladies FC.

Our Forwards have been the bedrock to the success story of Berry Ladies FC in front of goal so Rahama’s addition should make it fearsome and a nightmare for teams drawn to face Berry Ladies FC.

“𝗕𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗻𝗴” as she is affectionately called by her folks up North made history years back in a game against Savannah FC when she scored 4 goals in 43 minutes.
