Patrick Yeyie Wins Best Teacher Award At Kibi College Of Education

Patrick Yeyie, emerged as the best teacher at the Kibi College of Education in the Eastern Region.

Patrick Yeyie who is the Head of Research and Development Officer in the institution beat four other teachers in the highly contested competition.

Mr. Yeyie received the award during the 25th graduation held over the weekend which was under the theme: The Total Recovery of Ghana’s Economy Hinges On Education: The Role of 21st Century Teacher.”

The award is a T-TEL organized programme for all 46 colleges of education in Ghana. The award is the first of its kind in the colleges. The first stage is to select best Tutors of the various colleges. The criteria is to teach for at least 5 years, to show evidence of hard work, proof of students achievements in the courses you taught, evidence of community service, good human relations just to mention but a few. The second stage is the Best Tutors to compete for the Ultimate at the National level.

Patrick Yeyie in an interview with First News said, “The award has actually motivated me to work even harder. I joined the college in 2011 and have worked to produce several excellent teachers for the nation. I always teach my students online anytime they break for vacation. It is a source of motivation for me to do more. I see it as a reward for my 12 years service to the college and nation. I will continue to work harder to win the national best Tutors award.”
