Nkrankwanta : 1D1F Rice Processing Factory Commissioned

A Common User Rice Processing Factory under the government’s flagship programme 1D1F has been commissioned at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.

The construction of the factory cost 7 million cedis which was spearheaded by the Rural Enterprises Project with support from the African Development Bank.

The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Michael Okyere Baafi who commissioned the factory urged the rice farmers and the Dormaa West District Assembly to ensure that the factory does not deteriorate.

“It is a collective responsibility, the Ministry has a responsibility, the District Assembly and the farmers to ensure this facility stands the test of time. We should not come here next year and see it deteriorating.”

The factory has capacity to produce 1.5 to 2.8 tonnes of rice an per hour.
