I Will Contest As An Independent Parliamentary Candidate for Nkawkaw In The 2024 General Elections – Andy Kwaku Ameyaw
A Parliamentary aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region who contested in the 27th January 2024 internal primaries but lost mysteriously has declared his intention to contest as an independent candidate in the 2024 general elections.
Andy Kwaku Ameyaw who is a thoroughbred grassroots party player and has served the Danquah – Busiah – Dombo Tradition in various offices at the local level in the Nkawkaw Constituency as Communications Director, Secretary, Chairman and Government Spokesperson describes his defeat as a manipulation, tantamount to subverting the will of the masses.
Interacting with Bretuoba Kofi Owusu Ahendwa of Nkawkaw based Obuoba FM, he explained that the NPP is a political party that was formed based on the principles, ideals of their forebears notably; Dr J. B. Danquah, Prof Kofi Abrefa Busiah and S. D. Dombo who served with selflessness to give power to the people.
Andy Kwaku Ameyaw who has evidently established himself as a political Colossus for the NPP in the Eastern Region bemoaned the acts of monetisation that have gradually succeeded in dominating the party’s internal electioneering processes both on the part of delegates and alleged sponsors.
He warned that the NPP should not veer into the dangerous arena of eroding its cherished principles and tenets that had attracted many of the Ghanaian people into their fold, but rather, eschew profligacy, opulence and auctioning of political power that has recently engulfed its primaries.
He chastised known and unknown self acclaimed party “godfathers” who out of disdain for political ethics hop from constituency to constituency influencing the conscience of the entire political system with monetisation, destabilizing them which is an illegality and described such conducts as repugnant and an affront to multiparty democracy.
He entreated the people of Nkawkaw to believe in him as his path is being shaped in the fashion of a new divine political chapter and assured them of a near future of selfless leadership that will provide meaningful developments to the communities.
