Kete Muslims Youth Association Donates Equipment to Resource Krastec Computer Laboratory

The donation is part of the Association’s social responsibility and commitments towards educational development.

Kete Muslims Youth Association is a development oriented and change driven association, based in Krachi West Constituency in the Oti Region.

Earlier, the association donated an anesthesia machine to the Krachi West Municipal Hospital to support healthcare delivery.

The items donated to Kete-Krachi Senior High Technical School included  2 air conditioners,2 stabilizer, Set of Curtains and a water pumping machine.

The donation occurred after several visits to understand the challenges the school face in the teaching and learning of information technology subjects.

Until the intervention of Kete Muslims Youth association, the school has little or no hope of meeting the criteria set by government providing a standard ICT Laboratory.   

Making the donation, patron of the association Mr. Abdul Samed Tahiru, said Kete Youth association is committed to making the teaching and learning of ICT fun and memorable in the comfort of air conditions.

“We believe school children should not be intimidated by technology – what we are doing is to provide a conducive environment for early access to quality computer education for these pupils – we wish to see more school children take computing programs at higher levels because we believe the illiterates of the future will be people who cannot use computers,” he said.

He added that the water pumping machine will also help to continuously supply water to the students.

Officials of all the beneficiary school expressed relief and gratitude to the association for the kind and timely donation.

Headmaster  of Krastec, Mr. David Prosper Katey, said , “it really feels special. For more than three years, we’ve made frantic efforts to acquire these items with little success. Now, we can meet the criteria set by government to provide us with Computers for our students   to have a real chance to understand ICT better. This is a moment of pride for us.”

The Chairman for the occasion and representative from Krachi West Municipal Education office, Mr Eric Ofori was grateful to the association by supporting education in the municipal.
