Minority MPs Given The Green Light To Demonstrate

The Ghana Police Service has given the minority MPs the go ahead to organize their demonstration against the Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr. Ernest Addison and his two deputies Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afarib and Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi. 

The police indicated that they provide adequate protection during the demonstration.

The minority are to organize the demonstration on July 30, 2024 in Accra.

The demonstration will be led by the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga.

The demonstration is against inflation and monetary policies of the Bank of Ghana.

The Minority has protested against the central bank following its historic loss of GH₵60 billion in 2022.

The minority is further infuriated by the Bank’s decision to construct a new head office at a cost of $250 million.

The demonstration will start from the Obra Spot and ends at the Kwame Nkrumah Museum.
