The University of Toronto has officially launched the 2026 application cycle for its prestigious Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship Program, a highly competitive opportunity for exceptional international students who demonstrate academic excellence, creativity, and a strong record of school and community leadership.
This fully funded undergraduate scholarship is awarded annually to approximately 37 global scholars, offering support for tuition, books, incidental fees, and full residence for four years. It is tenable only at the University of Toronto, and applicable to first-entry undergraduate programs beginning in September 2026.
Designed to recognize students who have left a meaningful impact on their schools and communities, the Pearson Scholarship also seeks to nurture future global leaders who are ready to contribute to the international community.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Be an international student (i.e., a non-Canadian requiring a study permit).
- Be currently in their final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2025.
- Be planning to begin studies at the University of Toronto in September 2026.
- Applicants who have already started post-secondary studies or plan to begin them elsewhere in January 2026 are not eligible.

How to Apply
The Pearson Scholarship application is a three-step process:
- School Nomination
- Students must be nominated by their high school.
- Schools not already registered can apply to participate here.
- Schools that previously participated will receive nomination access beginning July 1, 2025.
2. Apply to U of T
- Candidates must submit an application for undergraduate study at the University of Toronto by October 17, 2025.
- Students may apply to multiple programs, but the scholarship will apply only to their first-choice program at the time of the award decision.
3. Submit Scholarship Application
- After the nomination and university application are completed, students will receive a private link to submit the Pearson Scholarship application, due by November 7, 2025.
- All supporting documents must also be submitted online by this deadline.
