Ghanaian musician, Kuami Eugene, has shared a lighthearted yet reflective memory from the early days of his career, one that combined youthful confidence, a new car, and an unannounced visit to familiar faces from his past.
In an interview on Joy Prime, posted on X on July 17, 2025, the singer, born Eugene Kwame Marfo, relived the excitement of purchasing his very first vehicle. His initial instinct, he recalled, was to drive straight to his childhood home in Fadama to share the moment with his mother.
“The funny thing is, after purchasing my first car, the first place I drove to was to inform my mom in Fadama, because I had moved out after Lynx Entertainment signed me. I went home and showed her the car, and she was excited,” he said.
But after that heartfelt stop, Kuami Eugene took a more playful detour.
“After that, I told my mom to wait for me. Her (my ex’s) mom had a salon at Darkuman, so I drove straight there just to blow the horn and cause a little commotion. She wasn’t around, but I met her mom.”
Though delivered with a laugh, the story wasn’t just about mischief. Eugene used the anecdote to offer advice on relationships and the importance of believing in people during their early struggles.
“I’ve always remembered that moment, even though we had both moved on. Sometimes people should just give their partners time, because they can surprise you with how far they’ll go,” the ‘Angela’ hitmaker stated.
