Ghanaian Gospel singer, Diana Asamoah, has sounded an emotional alarm after linking the death of her elder sister to a herbal drink made by Prophet Adom Kyei Duah.
In a video, the outspoken singer claimed her sister, who had lived with diabetes for 17 years, abandoned prescribed treatment in favor of the prophet’s so-called miracle “Sobolo,” a decision she believes led to her death.
“The Bible states that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; it does not say that anyone who calls on ‘Sobolo’ will be saved,” Diana declared. “As I mentioned earlier, my elder sister passed away on December 6. She had diabetes for 17 years but only deteriorated after she began consuming ‘Sobolo.’”
According to her, the situation worsened when her sister, convinced of the drink’s healing powers, discarded essential medication, even those sent by her husband from abroad.
“Her husband was abroad, and whenever he sent her medicine, she would discard it and opt for ‘Sobolo’ instead. That led to her death,” she revealed.
Diana’s video also addressed broader concerns over the teachings of Prophet Adom Kyei Duah, clarifying that her outspoken critique is neither rooted in personal rivalry nor jealousy over his congregation size.
“I do not harbour hatred against anyone, nor have I established a church out of jealousy for the number of members you have in yours. I believe establishing a church is a noble endeavour. If the Lord has called you to establish a church, then preach the Word of God to His children,” she noted.
Her frustrations also extended to the prophet’s contentious stance on women preaching, a view Diana fervently opposed. She called on Christian women not to be discouraged by such rhetoric, pointing to key biblical figures as evidence of God’s use of women in ministry.
“Do not deceive people by claiming that women should not preach. Women proclaim the gospel, and if you are a woman who believes in the Word of God, go out there and share the gospel. We have women in the Bible like Elizabeth, Dorcas, and Priscilla who were used by the Lord. So what are you talking about?” she challenged.
“I have mentioned that you are not a preacher of the Word of God, and you have admitted this yourself, so just continue with your business,” Diana Asamoah concluded.
