Ghanaian comedian, OB Amponsah, has called out gospel artiste and television personality Empress Gifty for what he described as a disappointing lack of action during a controversial moment on live TV.
The backlash stems from a recent episode of UTV’s United Showbiz, where entertainment pundit Bullgod sparked public outrage after referring to Jesus as a “fool.” The remark, made on air, quickly ignited heated reactions on social media.
In a Facebook post reacting to the incident, OB Amponsah questioned why Empress Gifty, who was hosting the show at the time, failed to confront or condemn the comment. He argued that her role as both a gospel musician and program host placed a moral responsibility on her to intervene.
“How can a gospel musician who is also a host of the show allow someone to insult the messiah back and forth?
“You could have gone on a strike until he rendered an apology. However, you didn’t do so. All you could do is to wear makeup and come sit on the show without doing anything,” he wrote in Twi.
