McBrown Pledges Support for Osanju’s Family Ahead of Funeral

Ghanaian actress and television host Nana Ama McBrown has taken a leading role in shaping the farewell of famous TikToker Elvis Frimpong, popularly known as Osanju.

In a TikTok livestream on September 7, 2025, McBrown pledged full support to the influencer’s family, describing the coming funeral as a duty she feels personally bound to fulfill. Referring to Osanju as her “boyfriend,” she vowed to carry out the rites according to his own wishes.

“This burial rite is centered around me because I am the widow. I haven’t been able to speak to Osanju’s father, but when he (Osanju) was alive, he told me that he didn’t want any flashy or big funeral when he passed on, so I will make sure to give him what his heart desires,” she said.

McBrown made clear the ceremony is designed to help the bereaved, not to entertain.

“This is not a funeral for merry-making. Everyone attending should come with the mindset of supporting the family. Osanju’s father is not financially sound, so no one should expect food or transport money,” she stressed.

The announcement follows an outpouring of grief on social media after Osanju’s death on September 1, 2025. The TikToker had openly chronicled his fight with leukemia, making his passing even more jarring to followers who saw him active online just a day earlier as he watched Barcelona face Rayo Vallecano.

Nana Ama McBrown noted that the low-key service is also intended to ease the financial strain on Osanju’s father, who has endured additional hardship since the recent death of his wife.

Before his passing, Osanju’s honest storytelling about his illness resonated widely. Earlier this year, he appeared on McBrown’s Onua Showtime, sharing his journey and inspiring audiences with his resilience and optimism.

By keeping the funeral modest, McBrown hopes to honor Osanju’s stated wishes while rallying practical support for his family. The funeral is scheduled for October 4, 2025, in Atwima Koforidua, Ashanti Region.
