Ghanaian Gospel singer Piesie Esther has advised young artistes to prepare for the rough road ahead, stressing that the gospel industry demands both resilience and faith.
In an interview with Joy Prime’s Roselyn Felli on the Changes show, the celebrated singer shared her thoughts on what she believes many in the new generation lack. She said toughness and a strong reliance on God are essential for survival in the music space.
“In this industry, you need to be tough and hold on to God tightly because when you adhere to God’s will, He takes care of your needs for you. If you don’t toughen or harden yourself in this workspace, I tell you that you won’t be able to survive,” she advised.
With over twenty years in gospel music, Piesie Esther has weathered both praise and hostility. She recalled moments when people’s behavior made her feel excluded, yet she refused to be distracted from her mission.
“I have encountered a lot of things, and God has brought us this far. Sometimes, the attitude some people show you makes you feel like you don’t belong. But when you know where you’re going, you’ll not allow anybody to cause you to lose focus,” she stated.
She encouraged young artistes to be prayerful, stay determined, and remain steadfast in their calling, assuring them that perseverance and faith will ultimately lead to success.
