The family of the late Ghanaian musician Charles Kwadwo Fosuh, famously known as Daddy Lumba, has issued a stern warning against the spread of false information regarding his funeral.
On Thursday, November 6, 2025, his wife, Mrs. Akosua Serwah Fosuh, and his sister, Ms. Ernestina Brempomaa Fosuh, released a statement addressing the actions of Mr. Philip Kwabena Agyeman Appiah-Kubi, also known as Roman Fada. The family says Mr. Appiah-Kubi has been distributing misleading funeral invitations and sharing incorrect details, despite ongoing private discussions within the family.
“The family is working in unity and good faith to ensure that the funeral of our beloved Charles Kwadwo Fosuh (Daddy Lumba) is conducted with the dignity, respect, and love he deserves. We will not allow misinformation, opportunism, or unauthorized individuals to disrupt this process,” the statement read.
The family clarified that Mr. Appiah-Kubi is not a member of the Fosuh family and has no legal, moral, or traditional authority to act on behalf of the late musician. They also reminded the public that his role as Daddy Lumba’s manager had been officially terminated by the musician before his passing.
Any further misrepresentation or interference, the family warned, could lead to legal action to protect the integrity of the funeral and related estate matters. They urged fans, media houses, and the public to only rely on statements issued directly by the Fosuh family or their officially appointed representatives.
The warning comes amid weeks of speculation and public debate over funeral arrangements for Ghana’s Highlife legend. The family is determined to manage the process privately and ensure that Daddy Lumba is laid to rest with the honor and respect his decades-long career commands.
Daddy Lumba passed away on July 26, 2025. His final funeral is currently scheduled for December 6, though the date is under dispute in court.
