Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu has urged people to think carefully before recording intimate moments, saying private encounters can easily become a source of embarrassment when they end up on social media.
Speaking on JoyPrime TV during an interview with Nikki Samonas, the actor also made a candid revelation about his own intimate life, saying he hopes he never has to deal with the exposure of private videos.
“I pray to God that my intimate videos never come online because, in bed, I am very aggressive,” he said with laughter.
Kwaku Manu was responding to the growing conversation around intimate videos that have surfaced online, with some individuals facing intense public scrutiny after private recordings were leaked or circulated without their consent.
The actor believes one of the easiest ways to avoid such situations is simply not to record intimate encounters. He acknowledged, however, that people who are deeply involved in relationships may not always make decisions with a clear head.
He said falling in love can sometimes affect a person’s ability to properly assess the consequences of their actions.
“With those who have theirs out, such intimate moments do not necessarily require you to set a camera to record. I don’t know how God created the female sexual organ; if you are not careful, you can even act like a child. But I don’t blame them too much. In life, if you fall in love, your brain does not sometimes reason through properly,” Kwaku Manu averred.
According to the actor, intense attraction can cause people to lose their usual restraint, leaving them vulnerable to decisions they may later regret.
While he showed some understanding towards those whose private videos have become public, Kwaku Manu said he struggles to understand why anyone would intentionally make intimate recordings more elaborate by adding social media filters.
He particularly took issue with people who use Snapchat while recording such moments simply to enhance the appearance of the footage.
For him, there is little justification for trying to make an intimate recording visually appealing when the content itself is supposed to remain private. He questioned whether such people had plans to sell the videos or had simply failed to consider the possible consequences.
