Dentaa Discloses Why She Would Not Accept Political Appointment Now

Dentaa Amoateng MBE

Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, head of GUBA Enterprise, says her path does not include politics, even as her profile continues to rise within Ghana’s creative and cultural space.

Her comments came after Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa listed her among those honored with a diplomatic passport. While grateful for the recognition, Dentaa emphasized that her energy is committed to her current work rather than a government role.

“Not now. I feel like I still have a lot of work to do. The work is huge. So I prefer to keep doing what I am doing. Because what I do affects the government anyway. It benefits the government. I want to be where I am. I am happy with where I am,” she said during an interview on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio on September 23, 2025.

Dentaa’s contributions extend beyond GUBA. With projects like The Dentaa Show, she has spotlighted Ghanaian culture on international platforms and created spaces for creatives to connect with global partners.

Her work has also advanced tourism promotion, encouraged partnerships between Ghanaian and international artists, and drawn investors to the creative sector.

In the past, she served on the Governing Board of the Ghana Tourism Authority, supporting efforts to strengthen Ghana’s cultural and tourism brand.

Below is a video of her remarks.
