MultiChoice Africa has unveiled a three-month promotion that upgrades DStv customers to higher packages at no additional cost, countering earlier claims that the deal amounted to a 33% to 50% increase in value.
The company announced the “We’ve Got You” promotion in a statement on Wednesday, clarifying remarks made earlier in the week by Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George (Sam George). The minister had told reporters in Accra on Monday that the agreement followed discussions between his ministry, the National Communications Authority, MultiChoice Africa, and its Ghana subsidiary, aimed at easing the burden of rising subscription costs.
According to MultiChoice, the offer is structured as an upgrade system rather than a percentage increase. “The promotion is our gesture to give our customers even more value. New, active, and previously disconnected customers who are active during the promotion period on DStv will get to view one package higher than what they have paid for at no extra cost,” the statement explained.
The initiative runs from October 1 through December 31, 2025, and is open to general residential subscribers. It does not extend to Premium package holders, business accounts, or DStv Stream users.
Under the promotion, customers paying for Compact Plus will be upgraded to Premium, while those on Compact, Family, Access, and Padi packages will also move up one tier.
MultiChoice described the campaign as a reward for subscriber loyalty and an opportunity for households to access more local and international programming during the final quarter of the year.
