Celebrated Ghanaian rapper, Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko, well-known as Obrafour, has singled out Sarkodie as the only younger artiste he has met who consistently demonstrates genuine humility toward his seniors in the music scene.
During an interview with Code Micky, the veteran rapper said no other rising act he has encountered has matched Sarkodie’s level of respect and regard for older musicians. “I am yet to see any other colleague of his who displays such respect and empathy for his seniors in the game,” he said.
The two stars have a long history of collaboration and live performances, with their joint appearance at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic Concert in Kumasi being the latest highlight.
Their creative partnership has also produced memorable tracks, including Moesha, Always on My Mind, Saa Okodie No, Hope (Brighter Day), Hiplife and Life.
Obrafour was equally impressed by Sarkodie’s relentless drive, recalling the period when the young rapper’s dedication stunned him. “He used to record at least one song every single day when I met him. It was unmatched. I have not seen anything like that before,” Obrafour noted.
That discipline, he explained, accounts for Sarkodie’s expansive catalogue and his influence over Ghana’s rap landscape. “I am not saying this to flatter him, but I genuinely admire him for his work rate,” he added.
