Sam George Vindicated? MultiChoice Ghana clarifies confusion after Minister’s DStv value claim and FAQs caused mixed messages

MultiChoice Ghana has cleared the air after an online FAQ sparked confusion about its new DStv value package, assuring customers that the initiative is fully in line with the earlier government announcement.

In a statement released after questions were raised, the company confirmed that the offer, which took effect on October 1, 2025, reflects the agreement announced jointly by Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Samuel Nartey George, the National Communications Authority, MultiChoice Africa and its Ghana subsidiary.

“We fully support the joint media statement that was issued by the Honourable Minister, Hon Samuel Nartey George and implementation of same has already commenced,” MultiChoice Ghana said.

The broadcaster explained that, as disclosed during the press briefing, a Pricing and Value Review Committee will meet again in three months to study the results of the rollout. It emphasized that this review should not be mistaken as proof that the offer is short-lived, describing it instead as part of a routine, ongoing assessment.

MultiChoice also stressed that the benefit extends to all subscribers. “There is no restriction on a subscriber’s choice of a bouquet. This offer is available to both existing, returning and new customers from 1st October 2025,” the release stated.

The company apologized for the misunderstanding caused by its earlier online FAQs, which it acknowledged may have created the impression that the value boost was simply a three-month promotion.
