Ghanaian rapper Kwaw Kese has publicly criticized Shatta Wale, calling him his “son” and accusing him of ongoing disrespect toward peers in the music industry.
During an interview on Hitz FM with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio, Kwaw Kese shared incidents he says reveal Shatta Wale’s lack of respect.
“My son doesn’t respect. My son doesn’t respect,” he said. “One time my son was on social media saying, yeah Bulldog, you killed Kwaku’s manager. I will expose you. Then my son came into my DM, and he said, Kwaw, we need to talk. And I gave him my number. My son never called. I tried reaching out. He never responded again.”
He added, “You know, my son doesn’t respect. He has disrespected everybody in the industry, even Kwame Despite. My son insulted him. So if you are disrespectful, just remember that somebody knows the same game you are playing. And there are people who disrespect you. You see, so it’s like that. There’s nothing like you hate somebody. You see, my son insulted Sarkodie to the bone. And the next thing, he was begging to be on his show. If you love somebody, you don’t take a phone and insult them from head to toe. No.”
When Dadzie suggested these incidents happened in the past, Kwaw Kese disagreed.
“No. If you forget your past, you can’t see your future. Your past plays part of your growth. You see, so if you have done A, B, C to people, just come out and say, oh, this thing I did, I did it when I was in my days.”
Addressing the possibility that the two artistes may have resolved matters privately, Kwaw Kese said:
“I don’t care about who solved the issue. What I care about is you came out to insult people in the light. If you have changed, let the people come out and let people know that you have changed in the light.”
