Kofi Nti Opens Up on How Smoking and Drinking Nearly Destroyed His Music Career

Kofi Nti

Kofi Nti has recalled a challenging period when smoking and drinking nearly jeopardized his music career.

During an interview with Nana Romeo on Okay FM, the Ghanaian highlife singer acknowledged that even though he was not a heavy smoker, the habits negatively affected his daily life and career progression.

He explained that occasional smoking can become addictive and destructive, cautioning that it has the power to harm both personal well-being and professional success.

Nti revealed that these distractions often kept him from seizing key opportunities. After shows, instead of networking with industry contacts who could advance his career, he would find himself smoking in the background.

Recognizing the danger, Kofi Nti made a firm decision to quit smoking and drinking entirely. He also intentionally avoids friends who still engage in these habits, concerned that their influence might tempt him to fall back into old patterns.
