Police in the Bono Region have launched an investigation after the body of a 43-year-old woman was found in her room at Penkwase in the Sunyani Municipality.

In a statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer for the Bono Regional Police Command, authorities confirmed that the deceased, identified as Cynthia Boahemaa, was discovered hanging from a crossbar with a cloth tied around her neck. Her body has since been taken to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

The police said they were alerted to the scene by two co-tenants of the deceased, Hayford Nkansah and Eunice Adobea, who reported the incident after discovering the body. When officers arrived, they found blood oozing from her nostrils.

“The body was inspected and taken to the Sunyani Teaching Hospital where a medical doctor confirmed the death,” the statement indicated.

Police assured the public that investigations were underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the woman’s death.
