GES Announces Two-Day Mid-Term Break for Basic Schools Across Ghana

The Ghana Education Service announces a nationwide mid-term break for all basic schools on October 31 and November 3, allowing teachers and pupils to rest.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a two-day mid-term break for all basic schools nationwide, scheduled for Friday, October 31, and Monday, November 3, 2025.

In a statement released Thursday, GES Public Relations Officer Daniel Fenyi confirmed that there will be no classes for teachers or pupils on those days, noting that the break is already reflected in the official academic calendar.

“Basic schools will, for the first time, observe a mid-term break on Friday, October 31, and Monday, November 3, as already captured on the academic calendar,” the statement said.

According to Mr. Fenyi, the brief recess is intended to give both teachers and learners time to rest and regain energy for the remainder of the term.

The directive covers all public and private basic schools operating under the supervision of the Ghana Education Service.
