Ghana’s Interior Ministry Announces Recruitment for Police, Prisons, Fire, and Immigration

Ghana’s Interior Ministry opens nationwide recruitment for Police, Prisons, Fire, and Immigration Services from Nov 15 to Dec 15.

Ghana’s Interior Ministry has opened a new round of nationwide recruitment for four major security agencies, calling on qualified citizens to step forward and serve. The exercise, which spans from November 15 to December 15, will intake fresh personnel into the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Ghana Immigration Service.

A statement from the ministry stressed the initiative’s goal to strengthen the country’s security apparatus and improve public safety through effective service delivery. It urged “suitably qualified, disciplined, and patriotic Ghanaian citizens who desire to serve the nation with integrity, professionalism, and dedication” to apply within the designated window.

Information on specific vacancies, requirements, and application steps for each service is expected shortly. Until then, applicants are advised to study all guidelines thoroughly to ensure they meet the set criteria.

The ministry also issued a strong warning against fraud. It stressed that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge and cautioned against dealing with individuals or groups offering shortcuts for a fee. Any applicant discovered using forged documents or engaging middlemen will be disqualified and may face prosecution.

“Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted and invited for screening, aptitude tests, and background verification,” the ministry stated, reinforcing its commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process.
