Bechem–Techimantia road accident

Tragedy struck on the Bechem–Techimantia road when a Toyota Voxy carrying eight passengers was involved in a fatal accident near Kwasu in Ghana’s Ahafo Region.

The Bechem Fire Station received a distress call at about 1:45 p.m. on November 10, 2025, and immediately dispatched a seven-member rescue team led by ASTNO Kwaku Doe. When firefighters arrived, they found the mangled vehicle, registration number AS 6403-25, severely damaged after what appeared to be a violent collision.

In a post on social media, the Ghana National Fire Service indicated that two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies were handed over to the police. Six others, some critically injured, were rescued and rushed by the National Ambulance Service to the Bechem Government Hospital for emergency treatment.

Authorities say investigations are underway to determine the cause of the crash. Officers at the scene described the wreckage as “massive,” adding that the quick response of rescuers helped save lives in what could have been an even greater tragedy.
