Mahama Naser Toure, the four-term Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, has died after a period of illness.
He passed away at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, according to a report by Citinewsroom.com.
Toure was a seasoned lawmaker who played an active role in parliamentary work over multiple terms. He served as Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee and was a member of the Roads and Transport Committee, the House Committee, and the Private Members’ Bills and Motions Committee.
The Second Deputy Majority Whip, Richard Acheampong, said Toure will be buried today in line with Islamic customs. The burial is expected to take place at his residence in Nima, Accra.
