After spending some time in Germany, Akosua Serwaa, the first wife of the late Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has touched down in Ghana, attracting intense public attention and emotion.
Her arrival at the Kotoka International Airport on Friday, January 9, 2026, quickly evolved into a striking show of affection. Long before she emerged, a sizeable crowd had filled the arrival area, transforming the terminal into a space of song, praise, and visible solidarity. What began as a routine arrival soon became a public moment of tribute that reflected the deep sentiments surrounding her name.
A video shared online captured the sheer scale of the welcome. Dozens of supporters stood shoulder to shoulder, singing in her honour and chanting messages of admiration as they awaited her. Placards raised above the crowd carried inscriptions celebrating Akosua Serwaa and underscoring her place in Daddy Lumba’s life.
Among those present were many women who openly described themselves as members of “Team Legal Wife,” a group that has gained prominence amid ongoing public conversations about the late musician’s private life and enduring legacy.
The airport gathering also drew several individuals closely linked to Daddy Lumba. Papa Shee was in attendance, as was the musician’s sister, Ernestina Fosuh, widely known as Akosua Brempongmaa, along with other associates and well-wishers who came to show their support.
While Akosua Serwaa has not publicly explained what prompted her return to Ghana at this time, the timing has not gone unnoticed. Her arrival comes just weeks after her absence from Daddy Lumba’s highly contested funeral, which was eventually held on December 13, 2025. That absence had sparked intense speculation and debate, making Friday’s emotional reception feel, to many observers, like a long-awaited and deeply symbolic homecoming.
