The Media Made Me a Pastor – Majid Michel Clarifies

Majid Michel

Majid Michel is pushing back against a label he says was never his to begin with, drawing a clear line between his faith journey and the public titles attached to it.

The veteran Ghanaian actor addressed the issue in a recent interview shared on X on January 16, 2026, after he was asked about the state of his supposed pastoral ministry. Rather than discussing church work, Michel used the moment to correct what he described as a long-standing misconception about his role in Christian teaching.

According to him, he has never been ordained and does not lead a church, despite being widely referred to as a pastor. He said the description did not originate from him, but from media narratives that took on a life of their own.

Michel explained that his work is centered on teaching scripture, not running a ministry, and urged the public to use a title that reflects that distinction. He stressed that while his faith is central to his life, it should not be confused with formal pastoral authority.

“First of all, I’ve said it so many times, in so many places. The media, you people, made me a pastor. It is you people that made me a pastor.

“I am not an ordained pastor. I am a teacher of the Word of God. I am not ordained. I don’t have a church,” Majid Michel stated.
