J.A Adofo opens up on Mahama’s monthly help during health battle

J.A Addo and President John Dramani Mahama

Veteran Highlife musician Jackson Alfred Adofo, widely known as J.A Adofo, has spoken warmly about the personal support he says he has received from President John Dramani Mahama during a difficult period in his life.

Speaking in a recent interview with Ohemaa Woyeje, the “Ankwanobi” singer revealed that the president has stood by him since he became ill, offering consistent help behind the scenes.

According to the music legend, that support includes regular financial assistance to help him manage ongoing medical expenses, alongside other gestures of care that have eased his burden.

“Ever since I fell sick, President Mahama has been giving me gifts, including money to buy medicine every single month. You can ask Mr Beautiful, because he is the one who brings the money,” he said.

J.A Adofo was quick to distance the assistance from any political considerations, stressing that the arrangement is not tied to party loyalty or public endorsements. He maintained that he does not take part in politics and described the president’s actions as a matter of personal goodwill.

“Truth be told, I don’t involve myself in politics, but he likes me. My child has passed away, and under normal circumstances, I would have invited him to the burial. However, I understand the responsibilities he carries as President.

“Therefore, I will not disturb him because he is the father of the nation. But I am sure that if he hears that I am burying my child, he would come to support me,” J.A Adofo further stated.
